In Super Smash Bros. Clash, some characters will perform different poses before a match, say different things when they arrive on screen in a match and so on if they are fighting a certain character in certain match types. This is somewhat similar to the Rival concept.
These are relatively scarce in comparison to many other character-based interactions in the game. They can deliver some things, though.
In matches where the requirements for multiple interactions are met, the character will do a random interaction.
Mario[]
- In a 1-versus-1 match versus Bowser, Mario will arrive on screen climbing up from a set of stairs.
Bowser[]
- In a 1-versus-1 match versus Mario, Bowser roars after climbing out of the wall of flames.
- When he and Bowser Jr. are facing Mario and Luigi in a team, Bowser and Bowser Jr. will both appear from Koopa Clown Cars.
Bowser Jr.[]
- When facing Mario, in a 1-v-1 or otherwise, Bowser Jr. appears as Shadow Mario before using his paintbrush to reveal the true Bowser Jr.
- When he and Bowser are facing Mario and Luigi in a team, Bowser and Bowser Jr. will both appear from Koopa Clown Cars.
Donkey Kong[]
- In a match against Mario, 1v1 or otherwise, Donkey Kong will appear on screen without the barrel and throw a barrel over the stage.
Snake[]
Sonic[]
- In a 1-versus-1 match against Knuckles, Sonic and Knuckles will appear in the middle of the screen and clash with their fists, then get into starting positions.
- In a 1-versus-1 match against his alternate scheme, Metal Sonic, the latter will appear in a form of liquid before taking his normal self similarly to how Neo Metal Sonic would form from liquid after some cutscenes in Sonic Heroes.
Knuckles[]
- In a 1-versus-1 match against Sonic, Sonic and Knuckles will appear in the middle of the screen and clash with their fists, then get into starting positions.
